Carolina Catholic learns about the book:
From the Depths of Our Heart:
Priesthood, Celibacy, and the Crisis in the Catholic Church

For our second show in February, we learn about the first book Pope Emeritus Benedict has co-written since stepping down in 2013, with his co-author, Cardinal Robert Sarah. This book, From the Depths of Our Heart: Priesthood, Celibacy, and the Crisis in the Catholic Church, will be released on February 20 in English by Ignatius Press. In this show, we speak with the founder of Ignatius Press, Father Joseph Fessio, SJ, a personal friend of Pope Emeritus Benedict, Mark Brumley who is the book's publisher, and Edward Pentin, the Rome correspondent for the National Catholic Register. We learn about how these two theologians address the spiritual challenges faced by priests today including struggles of celibacy. They point to deeper conversion to Jesus Christ as the key to faithful and fruitful priestly ministry and church reform.

This show will air on Wilmington Catholic Radio's four stations, 91.7 FM, 93.1 FM, and 103.1 FM in Wilmington and 100.7 FM in Southport the third and fourth weekends of February, Saturdays at 11 a.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m.

St. Michael the Archangel

Wilmington Catholic Radio is an apostolate serving the Catholic Church and consistently operating in accord with the principles and truths of the Catholic Faith as expressed in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the living Magisterium of the Church. Our goal is to always provide the community with solid Catholic teaching so Catholics can have an easy way to learn more about their faith, and for non-Catholics to learn what the Church really teaches. This is our mission.
