Each tradition is meant to bring our focus to the greatest gift we've ever received: Jesus Christ. We will also answer this question: What can we give Jesus for Christmas? Finally, we will talk about great gift ideas for Christmas that can help us grow in our faith including wonderful books and powerful sacramentals.

The 2023 March for Life in DC

For our first show in February, Tara Lewis and I report from the 50th annual March for Life in DC which was also the first march since the Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe v. Wade, the case which legalized the right to abortion in all 50 states back in 1973. In this show, we first speak with the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Chairman of the USCCB's Committee on Pro-Life Activities, on what we can do as Catholics now that the fight for the right to life of the unborn has been returned to the states. We also chat with two post-abortive women about their work in educating people about why they both regret their abortions, and we chat with several organizations that work to educate and help women and girls in crisis pregnancies across the USA.

Bella Dodd and her journey from Communism to Catholicism

Tara Lewis and I chat with Mary A. Nicholas, MD, co-author with Dr. Paul Kengor, about their book, The Devil and Bella Dodd: One Woman's Struggle Against Communism and Her Redemption. Dodd was a communist and a master infiltrator of the American educational system bringing communist propaganda into our schools. She courageously defected from the Communist Party, and thankfully, she was helped by Bishop Fulton Sheen who brought her from the scourge of communism to the beauty of Catholicism. After her conversion, she dedicated her life to warning the world about the evils of communism even testifying before Congress on the infiltration of America by communists.

Radiation of Catholic Liturgy into Catholic Homes for Advent and Christmas

Tara Lewis and I prepare for Advent and Christmas by looking at the Catholic liturgical background of both Advent and Christmas. Almost every tradition has a deep and rich Catholic history, and so much of what we do during both of these seasons has become secularized. Learn why our Christmas tree is completely religious in its origins. Know the difference between St. Nick and Santa Claus. Delve into the beauty of the first Christmas crèche. Enjoy the sweetness of your candy cane both physically and spiritually. Christmas truly celebrates the birth of Our Savior, but we must make sure that we understand each traditions' liturgical meaning.

Tara Lewis and I interview our guest, Father Charles Murr, author of Murder in the 33rd Degree, who worked in Rome for many years and studied for the priesthood there. He literally saw history in the making in several ways: He was there for the pontificates of three popes (Popes Paul VI, John Paul I, and John Paul II), and he was friends with Canadian Archbishop Gagnon who was asked by Pope Paul VI to investigate the Roman Curia, the governing body of the Catholic Church due to allegations that Freemasons were controlling the selection of bishops and changing the liturgy/liturgical liturgical norms of the Catholic Church. His newest book details his investigation of the Roman Curia and how these three popes reacted to his investigation.

Carolina Catholic and friends react to the Dobbs' decision which overturned Roe v. Wade

For our second August show, Judi Paparozzi and Tara Lewis talk to local pro-lifers, including the Knights of Columbus, about how we as Catholics should react to the Dobbs' decision, now that it has been released reversing Roe v. Wade, with the realization that many states around NC will be abortion free; this concerns many of us who fight for the rights of the unborn, as we may soon see an increase in the number of women coming from other states to have abortions here in Wilmington. We as Catholics believe we must work to help women in crisis pregnancies including helping them long after the baby is born, and it is now more important than ever to vote pro-life fighting for the rights of all children, born and unborn, and assisting moms in crisis pregnancies. Catholics must show the world that we love both the mom and the child.

Nikki Kingsley

What is the Truth?

This was the burning question that led Nikki  Kingsley  on her journey from Islam to Christianity.

Nikki’s  remarkable  story  began  in  Pakistan  where  she  was  born  in  a Muslim family. She arrived in America at the age of thirty with her two young children, seeking freedom from an arranged marriage, and discovered the promise found in the dream called America.

Nikki’s life as a Muslim went through a dramatic turn when she had an extraordinary  series  of  mystical  experiences.  These  events  prompted her to question and reconsider the Muslim faith that she had practiced for 40 years.

Ultimately, this led Nikki to The Truth in the person of Jesus Christ.

A  compelling  speaker,  Nikki  now  shares  her  life-changing  story  of faith and hope––a story of a journey from the culture, faith, and traditions of the East to the freedom of the West.

Nikki  Kingsley’s  dynamic  account  of  her  faith  journey into Light is detailed in her book, Thirst for Truth: From Mohammad to Jesus.

I chat with my sister, Mary Reilly, a longtime youth minister at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Sea Girt, NJ, and a longtime pro-life prayer warrior. Mary has worked for decades in youth ministry while doing pro-life work for Mary’s Child Pro-Life Ministry, which raises prayers, concerns, and funds in support of life and supports organizations that consistently live and value the Gospel of Life. In this show, we continue our conversation about the impact that priests like Father Altman have had on many people, and how we must continue to support and pray for all priests and seminarians.

Our guest is Father Jeffrey Kirby, S.T.D., pastor of Our Lady of Grace Parish, Indian Land, South Carolina and a prolific Catholic author. His newest book called Way of the Cross for Loved Ones Who Have Left the Faith is a devotional aid to those of us who have loved ones who have left the Catholic faith. In this book, Father Kirby shows us how to pray for this intention by joining our sufferings with those of Jesus in the Stations of the Cross. While contemplating our Savior's sacrificial love, we can intercede for friends and family as they spiritually carry the cross with Jesus asking him to lead our loved ones back to God and His Church.
